Pick Up (Short Chain)
Designed by &Larry, crafted by Low Chee Lie
Year 2012
Pick Up draws from the form of a guitar pick — an object small in scale but central to making music. While I’m not much of a player, the electric guitar has always resonated with me, both visually and emotionally.
Cast in silver and worn close to the body, the piece plays on the dual meaning of its name: a reference to the pick itself, and a quiet reminder of music’s ability to lift the spirit. Sometimes, all it takes is to pick something up — an instrument, a tune, or yourself.
